When it comes to rental trucks, they are not all made the same...

Penske & Uhaul are the top local brands.

Penske offers cheaper mileage rates, but the trucks are more formal moving trucks. If you have really heavy furniture, you can get a lift gate with your truck. Penske is negotiable on long distance price as well.

Uhaul is convenient, easier to drive and more well known. So you pay for the brand. Almost 6x as much per mile...

The right materials matter. You'll need tape, blankets & moving wrap.

We recommend renting blankets for a majority of furniture, from a moving company or moving supplies store. These are a lower quality pad, but will protect nonetheless

For expensive furniture, we recommend buying high quality blankets from Uline. 2 per item should be enough

Each item should have all surfaces entirely covered, tape the blankets together, and wrap around the furniture to hold the blanket on tight.
